Chap 03 - The year was 1985 ...
The year was 1985 when the dawn of March 25 at the age of 88 years, the Duchess Maria Matilda passed away, and suffered the same fate next month (April 25) his sister Duchess Maria Elena.
I remember still the shock and grief the entire population affected by the loss of two sisters who were affectionately identified as the Duchesses of Serracapriola. In the meantime, and upon the renewal of the social positions of the center of the third age, I was given the post of secretary that I accepted the appointment because I was able to secure a broader knowledge about the developments that have occurred after the departure of two noblewomen.
In fact, my predictions and suspect took place on time, as among the relatives, public and private, war erupted for the award of the valued assets left, in the absence of legitimate heirs by the two deceased.
From that moment on my detailed chronological description of events in light of the documentation and taking legitimate claims founded on the events of the inheritance of the assets of the deceased.
In the transcript of the official records would simply offer only those of interest, and, in particular the events of related generously donated by the deceased in favor of the old town of Sorrento and Sorrento.
By application for Notary Cannavale, of Sorrento on April 1, 1985, initiating the succession by the publication of the holographic will of Mrs. Matilda Donnorso Correale Serracapriola.
It consists of three sheets. First we read, "I leave to my sister Elena usufruct of all my property during life." After allocating assets to various sites in different locations grandchildren from Sorrento, reads as "REMAINING whole of my property at the Cape of Sorrento, Villa" The Sorito "and Village" Santa Fortunata "the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to help the elderly" .
On the second paper states: "the left to the said Order should be made payable to" Foundation of Serracapriola Maresca Matilda "by banning the sale and manufacture."
The Municipality of Sorrento, the warehouse at the Cape of Sorrento n. 10 for seniors and another apartment in Via Capo n. 12, currently occupied by Professor Vittorio Fabrizio who enjoy lifetime.
Following the death of her sister Donna Elena, most wills were published including one dated January 12, 1984 and the other April 25, 1985. The first was confirmed the establishment of the foundation "Domus Mariae Elena Serracapriola" as heir, among other things in it we read: "The foundation will use in the building to the city of Sorrento in Sorrento Piazza Tasso called Palazzo Tasso. I commend to dear Sorrento defense of the integrity of this wonderful area that I loved so much and for how many violate this integrity will chase my blame. "
It grants tied to a hospital located in Sorrento Sorrento St. Anthony St. Anthony Street to the sum of 15 million per year to be reassessed according to ISTAT. Finally, provides that the Board of the Foundation, one of six members shall be appointed unanimously by the City Council of Sorrento, my beloved country.
At this point it should outline the legacies that the two ladies have provided in their wills:
- To the City of Sorrento bare ownership of a property at Via Capo n. 10
- A stock held at the Via Capo n. 12.
- The historic building, Palazzo Correale Piazza Tasso.
- The appointment to the board of directors of the foundation of a component.
- A legacy of 15 million annual-profit hospital to Sorrento St. Anthony for the elders of the city.
