Chap 09 - In the month of March in Sorrento ...
In the month of March in Sorrento was published a monthly magazine of news, culture and information entitled "other information" and the late City Councilman Antonio Mormon, always sensitive to the problems of the city, informed citizens, with great clarity, the the story of the Duchesses of Serracapriola with an article whose title "Hands on the Cape of Sorrento" that I should dutifully back in full.
"I commend our dear Sorrentini defense of the integrity of this wonderful area and for those who violate this integrity will chase my blame." So he wrote in his testament Maria Elena Donnorso Correale, also known as Duchess of Serracapriola in his will, perhaps presaging the fate that would be touched at the Cape of Sorrento.
But the manifestations of love of sisters for the city of Sorrento Serracapriola not limited to laying down a simple and legitimate desire. The Duchess Elena, in fact, as his sister Matilda left a substantial part of its assets to the City of Sorrento as well as the Sovereign Order of the Knights of Malta and the Sovereign Constantinian Order of Saint George.
"I thank the Sovereign Order of Malta and the Sovereign Order of Constantine is among others in one of the two wills of elderly ladies in Sorrento for the elderly will always dear to me. I insist that you do not have permission to sell. Thank you for what will make the Hall of Sorrento Sorrento for my loved ones. "
The clarity of the will of the Duchess entirely clear even from a flawless report prepared by the Notary Ugo De Cesare which specified, among other things, that "... the City of Sorrento will work to obtain state approval to accept the same bound and "to establish a" foundation to help the elderly Sorrento ... ".
Despite the curses and the like, however, politicians, private individuals and the various "Sovereign Order" to have a solid front to break the two philanthropists Sorrento.
For over a year, in fact, the long arm of the Russo family has come to make (even if only for rent), apparently for 99 years, the enjoyment of Villa "The Sorito" and the whole property of the Cape of Sorrento that runs on an area of tens of thousands of square feet and include at least three palaces that together represent the most prestigious heritage of Serracapriola. John Russo, brother of the more well-known Marian, councilor and deputy mayor of Sorrento was finally able to frame a dream: to become the new tenant of the beautiful villa that hosted, among others, the illustrious name of Maxim Gorky and Princess D'Aosta . Benefits for the elderly and safeguard the Sorrento area is not even mentioned.
With two permissions former mayor Gennaro Astarita, inside Villa "The Sorito" work was carried out by some considered impossible to ordinary mortals, while the Russian, due to unexplained disease of the trees, knocked down trees 32 Lemon of small trees and two olive trees of great trees, as observed by the traffic police. Everything is unfortunately too soon fell into a comfortable oblivion.
What is most surprising, though, is how the former mayor Gennaro Astarita was able to grant building permits in an area with historical and environmental constraints in the absence of the opinion of the superintendent. But not enough, since the approvals for works of "restoration" extraordinary can be granted only to legitimate owners, whereas in this case the measures were issued by the town of Sorrento to the lessee John Russo. Moreover it seems that in order to accept the property in Italian territory, the Order of Malta, as well as the Constantinian Order, we need a special decree of the President of the Republic issued at the request of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Having never read of this decree, then, we wonder how it was possible to conclude a contract of rent from Russian. These and other disturbing questions cover of the shadows' "affaire" Villa "The Sorito" that was supposed to be the heart of a foundation to help seniors Sorrento, but that actually turned into a golden palace for the usual "powerful".
Rather than blame the private sector, however, we believe that the City is to be condemned in the persons of Mayor and Aldermen were given to various shady maneuvers and once again offer a tangible proof of incapacity, inefficiency, if not connivance of omertosa in certain operations far from clear.
The only thing certain is that we have taken a real crime against the elderly as well as Sorrento seems certain the absolute ineptitude - not wanting to assume more - councilor delegate "to the problems of old age" in recent Louis Fattorusso years has made every effort to distribute hundreds of millions in contributions from various parties and stays as long as the money was to pay the community. Nothing however, has done to ensure that the will of the Duchess of Serracapriola were observed.
It is not known, in fact, what happened to the money derived from rent of property Cape of Sorrento although one thing seems certain that nothing has been done for members of the senior citizens of Sorrento.
Poor duchesse Serracapriola must be turning in his grave.
